MultiVersus Update Makes a Big Change to XP and Adds Rick from Rick and Morty

New update for MultiVersus It’s officially set for release today which will dramatically change, among other things, the amount of XP players have to earn and the addition of Rick from it. Rick and Morty To the list of playable characters in the free video game. The update itself and the release of Rick haven’t happened yet, but the development of Player First Games and Warner Bros. has gone ahead. Games has released patch notes detailing all the exciting changes.

The highlight is definitely Rick Sanchez joining in, but there are several other significant changes in this latest update. Players should find that they go from level 3 to 15 on the character mastery path much slower after patching as the XP required to reach this level has been doubled. Also, Shaggy will now be the free character after completing the tutorial in place of Wonder Woman.

  • Rick Sanchez Joins MultiVersus! Rick is a new charming character to join the roster.
  • The XP required to move from level 3 to 15 on the character mastery path has been doubled
  • We were finding that players could reach level 15 of the Mastery Path very quickly. This is to help us make it a little more trip.
  • Download PS4 and Xbox One performance improvements.
  • The initial free character from completing the introductory tutorial has been transformed into Shaggy from Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman can now be purchased for Gold or Gleamium.
  • Attack decomposition steps have been added to the introductory tutorial.
  • Fixed an issue in Coop-Versus-AI that was only causing Wonder Woman and Reindog bots to appear.
  • Fixed a bug where some players were unable to equip profile icons.
  • Fixed a bug where the game would sometimes freeze in the game end screen.

  • Reindog Skin: Chef Reindog is now available!
  • Reindog Skin: Golden Reindog is now available! It can only be bought with gold!
  • Steven Universe Skin: Tiger Millionaire is now available!

Twitch extension

  • Minor visual bug fixes
  • Added “Fighter Voting” that allows broadcasters to poll their audience on which fighter they’re playing, viewers with MultiVersus get additional votes.
  • Added the ability for viewers with MultiVersus to claim free bread from Twitch channels running the extension.

gaming systems

Infinite Anti Combo System

  • We have implemented a new infinite counter combo system that will spoil all subsequent attacks if the same attack is used 4 or more times in the same real combination. The goal is to put a global limit on infinite combos and make combos more creative. We hope the change will prompt players to explore new and more exciting combo modes.
  • We were thinking that the maximum number of the same attack used is 3, but we wanted to evaluate the change more slowly. We will be evaluating the change and are open to feedback on how we can improve the system!
  • The option to choose between 4 directions or 8 directions of right stick control (joystick) has been added to the settings menu.

ballistics systems

  • We are continuing to update the missile systems in this patch. Among the most notable additions is the inclusion of a new “Light Projectile” classification for projectiles that do not respond to Knockouts. The only light projectiles in the game at the moment are Rick’s uncharged cannon and the pie fired by the Neptr aid.

  • We’re still looking for updates specific to Arya, but we can use a little more time to get it right. Expect an update in the near future.

Air Side Attack Bug Fix: You can no longer ignore special air limits when splitting in an attack.

– Down Air Attack: Immediate cancellation when the hit is removed.

– Ground Side Attack: cancel the instant jump when the hit is removed.

+ Down attack: Garnet now retains some of its speed as it moves in attack.

+ Ground attack: Recovery reduced by 3 frames on hit.

  • This change should improve Garnet’s ability to pursue a successful attack.

+ Down-the-air attack: Hitbox active frames start with 2 previous frames

+ Neutral Air Attack: Recovery reduced by 3 frames on hit.

Gizmo

+ Jump speed: Jump speed has been increased to 3700 from 3400.

+ Special neutral antenna / ground: extends the life of the musical note to 10 seconds from 9.

+ Landside Special: The vehicle is now classified as a Heavy Projectile

+ Specific to the air side: Recovery reduced by 5 frames

+ Air Down Special: You can now jump to cancel the attack

Harley

Bug fix: Special down: Fixed an issue where Jack-in-the-Box would sometimes not hit overlapping enemies

iron giant

Bug fix: Special Neutral: Bolts will no longer be destroyed when exiting the blast box but Iron Giant is not KOed

Jake

– Air/Ground Down Special: While at home and on the ground, Jake will not bounce opponents on the ground anymore.

– Ground Attack: Recover increased by 4 frames per whiff (miss).

~Change: The beta tag has been removed.

Bug fix: Fixed a bug that could cause the ball to disappear when thrown close to the enemy.

+ Special neutral antenna / ground

  • When an ally receives a pass, they release a small explosion to hit the enemies.
  • Basketball No-Look pass speed increased from 3000 to 3200

Air/Ground Down: No longer blocking heavy projectiles

– Neutral Basketball Air Attack: No longer breaks shields on first hit.

~ Air / Ground: Smooth movement so as not to stop the attack

+ Ground side attack 1 – 3: smooth movement so that the attack does not collide

  • The first attack can now branch out as early as the second attack
  • The second attack can now be branched out early into the last attack
  • Increased forward movement during attacks so that you hit more reliably.

+ Air Side Attack: Knockout range increased to 14.5 from 13.5

  • Stephen’s horizontal killing power was extremely low. We hope that this change will help him in this aspect.

+ Special Air/Land side: Increased projectile velocity slightly.

+ Down-the-air attack: Active Hitbox frames start with 2 previous frames.

  • This change makes the active result frames more accurate in matching animations.

Superman

– Ground attack

  • Charged knockout size reduced to 1.5x from 2.0x.
  • Cancellation reduced by 4 frames
  • This should make an attack a little more than a commitment

Neutral Ground Attack: Decreased charge drop by 4 frames.

– Air Up Special

  • Payback increased by 12 frames per whiff (miss).
  • Low base stroke to throw down.
  • This should help make wall camping strategies less effective.

Tom & Jerry

~ Ground Side Attack 1

  • Hitbox active window window increased by 2 windows
  • Recovery increased by 4 frames per whiff (miss)

– Ground Side Attack 2

  • Recovery increased by 4 frames per whiff (miss)

+ Aerial side attack

  • Recovery reduced by 3 frames
  • Ground recovery cancellation reduced by 7 frames

+ Down Air Attack

  • Recovery reduced by 3 frames
  • The recovery window to cancel the Earth has been moved by 3 frames.
  • The recoil angle has been pushed to be more horizontal

+ Special Air/Terrestrial Neutral: Jerry returns to Tom if he is killed when he is bound to an ally

Bug fix: Specific to Earth: Fixed a bug where the Velma Bottle would not reliably use ice mounds

~ Neutral Air/Ground Attack

  • Bug fix: Toodles speech bubble no longer consumes one extra ammo.
  • Ally Enhanced Speech bubbles no longer apply a single weakness pack.

~ Down Air Attack

  • The recoil angle has been pushed to be more horizontal

Air / Ground Over Air

  • Recovery increased by 3 frames.

  • Ally Enhanced Beam no longer applies a single stack of weakness
  • Improved beam base recoil has been reduced from 1750 to 1600.
